GHTC’s 2023 target is to contribute to increase global cooperation

Participating as a speaker at the EMITT conference held with international participation, President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan talked about the advantages of Northern Cyprus in Health Tourism and the new term goals of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC).

Expert speakers participating in the conferences held at the EMITT fair, which brought together 600 participants from nearly 30 countries and aims to create a business volume of 500 million Euros, made presentations on new travel trends on the basis of sustainability, the future of tourism, breakthrough technologies in tourism, influencer strategies, metaverse, health, wellness, gastronomy, eco, agro and luxury tourism.

“CYPRUS INSPIRED DA VINCI AND SHAKESPEARE…”

President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan in his speech pointed out that Cyprus, as the island where Aphrodite, the Goddess of Beauty, was born and inspired Da Vinci and Shakespeare, has not lost its charm for over 10 thousand years due to strategic, political, commercial and religious reasons.

 

“NEARLY 4 TIMES THE TRNC POPULATION HOSTS TOURISTS”

Stating that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which was established in 1983 in the north of Cyprus, is a qualified tourism destination that has managed to host tourists almost 4 times its population, despite its population of 400,000,  Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that Northern Cyprus can be reached from anywhere in the world via Istanbul.

“TRNC IS ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COUNTRIES IN PROTECTING HEALTH…”

Reminding that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has become one of the most successful countries in the world in terms of protecting the health of both its own people, students and tourists, with a death rate of 8 per thousand during the pandemic period, Ahmet Savaşan said that Northern Cyprus, which has 300 days of sunshine throughout the year, offers accommodation in various concepts. Savaşan also pointed out that Northern Cyprus offers alternatives in many areas such as holidays, congresses, health, faith, weddings, gastronomy, sports, hiking and diving.

“THERE ARE STUDENTS FROM MORE THAN 100 COUNTRIES, EQUAL TO NEARLY 1/3 OF THE POPULATION…”

Drawing attention to the fact that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus provides education to nearly one third of its population (around 100 thousand) students from more than 100 countries at well-known universities with international accreditation, and that it stands out in educational tourism in this respect, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan pointed out that Northern Cyprus also offers significant advantages in the fields of protecting and improving health and restoring health.

“NORTH CYPRUS IS A WORLD BRAND IN IVF TREATMENTS”

Emphasizing that Northern Cyprus has become a preferred brand in the world, thanks to its success rate of 80% in IVF treatments, said that Northern Cyprus is a destination combining high technology and the price advantage  with its expert physician staff. Ahmet Savaşan pointed out that quality medical tourism services are also provided in Northern Cyprus in areas such as detox and wellness holidays, heart, physical therapy, general surgery, orthopedics, aesthetics, dental and hair transplantation.

 

“GHTC WILL CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPMENT IN A GLOBAL DIMENSION”

Established in Monaco under the founding presidency of Turkey, with the participation of the United States of America, United Arab Emirates Dubai, United Kingdom, Estonia, Croatia, India, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Senegal, Ukraine, Jordan and Greece, today 56 countries are members of the Global Healthcare Travel Council  (GHTC).  Reminding that the Presidency of the GHTC passed from Croatia to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that the main goal of GHTC this year is to contribute to the development of Health Tourism on a global scale on the basis of sustainability

“HEALTH TOURISM FORUM WILL BE HELD IN TRNC IN 2024…”

Stating that during the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Presidency of the GHTC, special attention will be given to developing cooperation between member countries and increasing the number of member countries. Ahmet Savaşan said that scientific meetings on subjects such as education, accreditation and digitalization will be accelerated, and that in 2024, the Global Healthcare Travel Forum will be held in Northern Cyprus with international participation.
