Libya Health Delegation observed health tourism opportunities in TRNC a great step for health tourism

Hasan Abdulmajid, head of the Libyan Prime Ministry Health delegation, Chairman of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, who also holds the Presidency of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), stated at the meeting held with GHTC President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan that he believed that the relations between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Libya would improve.

During the meeting with Libyan Prime Ministry Health Delegation Chairman Hasan Abdulmajid, Ahmet Savaşan; Chairman of Cyprus Healthcare Travel Council, who is also the President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council, stated that he believes the relations between the two countries, the TRNC and Libya, will develop in a positive way.

Speaking at the meeting held in the TRNC Republican Assembly, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which was established in 1983 in the north of Cyprus, which is the third largest island in the Mediterranean and the largest island in the eastern Mediterranean, hosts around 1 million 200 thousand tourists per year, three times more than its 400 thousand population. Pointing out that it provides education to over 100 thousand students from more than 100 countries at its well-known universities, he stated that Northern Cyprus offers significant advantages in the fields of protection, development and recovery of health.

Stating that the potential of World Health Tourism has reached 1 Trillion USD with 100 million traveling world citizens, Ahmet Savaşan said that Northern Cyprus’s geographical location, historical, touristic and humanitarian characteristics, international accreditations, hospitals with high comfort and technology, are well above the world average. He said that Northern Cyprus offers an important alternative to the health tourism market thanks to its quality in vitro fertilization centers serving with the highest pregnancy rates, specialist physicians using up-to-date information, the success the TRNC has achieved in the fight against coronavirus, and the price advantages it offers.

Ahmet Savaşan reminded that in the international ceremony that the term presidency of GHTC had passed to the TRNC, the TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel had emphasized that the health services provided in the TRNC are at the most advanced standarts, especially at the university hospitals, private hospitals and clinics, and state hospitals of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Emphasizing that the TRNC provides high standards of health services to the people of more than a hundred countries who come for many purposes such as tourism, business and health, Ahmet Savaşan reminded that the government announced to the world that it will make special efforts to develop Health Tourism, and said that Northern Cyprus is ready to take the necessary steps to cooperate with Libya in the field of health.
